A home for the Barnim

With the BARNIM PANORAMA, the municipality of Wandlitz has created a new tourist attraction in the direct vicinity of Berlin. Wandlitz has traditionally had a special relationship with the Barnim landscape due to its location in the middle of the Nature Park. As neither the Nature Park nor the collection in the Agricultural Museum Wandlitz was adequately presented, it seemed only reasonable to unite the two facilities in one domicile. In this way it is possible to show the entire breadth of the culture and landscape. Since September 2013, the Visitor Centre of the Barnim Nature Park and the Wandlitz Agricultural Museum have been together under a single roof – a unique combination found nowhere else in the country.

The joint exhibition “Formed and Used Landscape” unites the topics of nature, agriculture and technology and makes it possible to experience the whole diversity of a cultural and cultivated landscape. The exhibition resides in a newly constructed building, the architecture of which innovatively combines traditional and modern aspects. The BARNIM PANORAMA is managed and funded solely by the municipality of Wandlitz.
